Ursula Parrott was an amazing observer of her cultural moment. She saw the way that women entering the American workforce en masse in the 1920s presented both new opportunities and significant challenges. I write about some of her observations on the subject in a new article, "Women on the Verge: The Jazz Age Origins of Burnout" for LitHub. I consistently find her takes to be both spot on and still relevant today, almost a hundred years later.
